He's perhaps grown from the emotional scale of a teaspoon to a tablespoon in the time he's been away from home. Just enough to express how he's feeling out loud. That doesn't mean he's any good at processing his emotions than he has been before, but hey, at least it's a bit of progress.

"Will I?" He questions. Ivar's always been afraid to lose his family and yet he can't help but push them away in a sick self-fulfilling prophecy. Better not to be disappointed when they eventually wised up and saw him for the monster he really was. Ubbe might have eternal patience, but Hvitserk and Bjorn certainly don't. Sigurd most definitely hadn't.
