There was no point in hanging around her assigned housing by herself, nothing to observe or learn about her new surroundings there. So it wouldn't help her solve any mysteries or bring any solutions on finding something about getting back that no one had noticed just yet. She's used to observing things that other people don't see, she's known for it at her school even.

Sofia makes her way through the festivities. She accepts some food at some point but most people get a polite, amused smile and a shake of her head. Her eyes are on those around her, learning what she can about the limited amount of people that seem to inhabit this place.

She's just escaped one of the people following around with terrible poetry and found an abandoned bench to sit on, she draws her knees up to her chest and her headphones up from around her neck to over her ears. She might seem like a loner but if you join her she'll smile warmly and be open to conversation.

[ Sofia hits up a few different snacks and finds a nice place a little raised above where most people are settled and sits with her popcorn and pizza and a beer that she thinks was far too easy to acquire.

She leans back on her hands after opening it and taking a sip. Her interest is more on the people attending, which ones actually were there to watch the movie and others that clearly had other motives or were just bored. She was vaguely paying attention to the movie but it didn't seem nearly as interesting as people watching. ]

So, obviously people have decided to accept this is reality and everything so I'll skip what I surmise are people's usual questions here and get to something useful.

First, is there anyone from El Nacional and know about our whole hacker friend?

Second, is there school? Is it a waste of time here?

Third, what do you even do if you're parents are here with you?

[ As Sofia turns the corner to go to her bright yellow locker a sigh leaves her. Gerry's just grabbed Luis and slammed him into the locker with a "Whoa, Hey Luisto" and then asking the inane question "Where are you going?" Luis gives a simple "To class," as he tries to get off of the locker -- her locker. She pulls her headphones down around her neck and walks up as Gerry continues, "How come you don't say hi? We're friends right? Come on"

She walks up, putting herself in Gerry's space. ]

But you aren't, are you? Are you two friends, Luis?

[ Luis says nothing, looking mournful as he raises his arm in a nervous tic to his ear. ]

I didn't think so. Right?

[ Gerry says "No," before continuing, "Listen, Sof, if you can't tell we're a bit occupied right now." ]

Yeah, I see that. The problem is, that's my locker.

[ She points at the locker that Luis was shoved against. Gerry glances at it. "Ah, right. Sorry about that." Luis tries to pull away from the locker to leave and Gerry presses his shoulders back while he looks over at Sofia. "Just give us a few minutes and we'll be out of here."

Sofia raises a brow and gives Gerry a once over, seeing the hair on his shoulders, indicating he'd had a haircut likely just before school and it didn't seem professional. She reaches for his shoulder to point out and pull at some of the hair. He arches away from her with a darkened look on his face. She keeps swiping at his shoulder to get the hair off as she speaks. ]

Did you get a haircut, Gerry? It looks great on you. You couldn't have done it yourself.

[ Gerry nervously presses his necklace against his mouth as she keeps going. ]

Was it your mom?

[ One of his friends, Dario, starts laughing before she continues. ]

And Ernesto needs one, once he deals with his dandruff. There's shampoos for that. You've had it since we were both freshmen. But I guess you're still not quite as bad as Dario. That thing on your lip is herpes, right? Is that from Valeria in 1-B? She's the only one that has it.

[ Gerry goes "Isn't she you're cousin?" and Dario quickly retorts, "Shut up, that's not true. She's crazy" ]

So will you move?

[ "Your jokes are good. I'll give you that. They really are. But why don't you let us finish, while you fuck off and we'll go once you let me--" Gerry says, Sofia still in his face, cutting him off. ]

You're the ones in my way, right now.

[ Gerry's jaw tenses and he leans forward, trying to intimidate Sofia. "Look here," he presses the tip of his thumb and index finger to her jaw, tapping before she pulls her head back slightly. "You freak. One of these days you're going to get yourself in trouble. And I don't want that. You should try to behave, all right?" Sofia smirks, tilting her head up, the smirk shifting into a condescending smile. ]

But Gerry, based on how many classes you're failing...

[ The expression shifts to mock concern as she talks. ]

And the number of days you don't show, statistically I'm doing way better than you.

[ That draws an actual snicker out of Luis who had otherwise been cowering against the locker through the duration of the exchange. Gerry shoves him harder against the locker before Dario grabs Gerry's arm and says "Let's go. She's crazy." And Ernesto agrees, "Yeah, let's go." ]

I'll see you in class okay?

[ Sofia says still having her head upturned and not backing away from Gerry. Dario insists, "Gerry, leave her." Gerry chuckles and pokes her shoulder. "You win, congratulations," he turns his attention to Luis, "Get her to all your fights. She's good." And then back to Sofia, "Take care of your stuff. Crazy people tend to lose it." ]

Yeah, sure.

[ The three bullies walk-off, Gerry kicking Luis' backpack further down the hall first, turning around for one final comment. "Luis, I'll see you later, dude." Luis exhales heavily and wipes his nose with the edge of the sleeve of his sweater. "Thank you, Sofi." ]

Can I get to my locker, please?

( ᴇ. ᴡɪʟᴅᴄᴀʀᴅ )

[ Feel free to change styles/tenses. I'm up for whatever else might hold your interest for first meetings or whatnot. She'd probably frequent places where there are lots of people to watch without being too close to them, the library and stuff like that. ]
